Runbooks & operations guides

Step-by-step, tested guides for installing, operating, and troubleshooting Genesis. Pick the install path that matches how you deploy; the full operations guides ship with your distribution.

Install — pick your path

  • Wizard + CLI install

The common path: gap-host genesis CLI plus the in-cluster Control Plane wizard (Configuration → Preflight → Install → Post-install). Zero to a working platform, every step copy-pasteable.

  • ArgoCD / GitOps & other models

For GitOps shops: the wizard generates the ArgoCD Application for you to sync — including the OCI credential, APISIX-CRD, and OpenCost steps that otherwise block a first sync. Also covers the CRD-preapply and Helm-only paths.

Operations guides (shipped with your distribution)

The online phase — prerequisites, deployment models, air-gap crossing, install, and scan — is documented on this portal: see Install, Deployment models, Air-gap workflow, and Scan the bundle. Read these while your gap-host still has internet.

The full cluster-side reference guides (deploy, configure, preflight, operate, troubleshoot, upgrade) ship with your distribution. genesis pull <version> lands them on your gap-host as markdown under ./docs/customer/, next to your bundles — available offline, no internet access required. Open the local copies once you've crossed the gap:

  • ops-overview.md — the toolkit map

What every component is (Control Plane, deploy operator, preflight, health agent, workflow smoke, Vin Agent, genesis doctor), how each runs, and when to use it.

  • troubleshooting.md — when something breaks

Run genesis doctor first — one verdict with the exact fix. Covers the common first-install snags and how to hand Autonomize a redacted support bundle for remote diagnosis.

  • runbook-wizard.md / runbook-argocd.md — the golden runbooks

The full, tested, top-to-bottom install runbooks for each path, expanding on the install guide and deployment-models pages above.
